Airline Carry On Rules

I am drifting from Michigan to New jersey upon joined airlines and i have to pierce 4 vials of allergy shot serum, which will not fit in the upon quart sized bag which i am allowed. i checked the joined website and it says which we can pierce glass medicines upon the plane. though i was wondering if any one had had any knowledge with this rule.

Also, we have to keep the serum cold, though i do not consider i will be authorised to have ice. does any one know if i can have ice or an ice container upon the plane?

FYI, we am not checking this bag, it is a lift upon so opposite manners apply.
