Can I bring an external harddrive on an airplane carry on?



I want to bring a external harddrive as a carry on but not with a computer as I’m just bringing it back because a friend left it at my house. Is this allowed? Are they required to turn it on to see that it works because I won’t be able to do that without a computer?

    No because you are a terrorist, people are looking for people of middle eastern but what about Bosnia they are muslim also and white as the average European.

Yes, it is with you, but you have to take it out of my pocket if they can at security checkpoints usw.Gespeicherten scan data on the hard, impossible to put an immediate danger to passengers or the aircraft itself.   3. Be careful. Do you know what data is on the hard drive? If it is a USB hard drive, they may connect it to their computer to check it’s operation. If there’s illegal data on it, you may be in trouble, not your friend.

    I really don’t think you’ll have a problem, however. But they always ask me if I’m carrying anything for anyone else, did I pack my luggage myself, has my luggage be in my direct control at all times? Or variations of those questions.

    I travel with my laptop very often, but they only made me start it. Never looked at the programs. You imagine this would take them a lot of time. . .
