Yes, both are permitted, although I’m not sure if the bathrooms would have an electrical outlet to allow you to use the iron.

You can carry them on board. iPods are great for travel – especially the audio books.

An iron, probably not, though your ipod should be fine. If you want to be sure, you can check with the airline.
