Has it been declared official that you can’t bring water bottles in airplanes now and so oWhat are the new rules now? I have been here for 3 years but after what happened in the UK, did they change the rules for Sydney’s main airport? Thank you if you answered.

The rules keep changing as they relax previously imposed restrictions. My understanding is that you cannot bring bottled water with you to the airport and expect to take in onto the plane BUT you can purchase water AFTER going through security and take that onto the plane.
Whatever airline you are flying will have a website. Log onto that and look for a link to Restrictions. If you can’t find that then definitely call them the day before you fly and check what you can and cannot take.
Either way, plan to put everything into your checked luggage, except the stuff you really have to have. It will make it much easier going through security.
