I know that the bottles of liquids/gels have to be in 3 ounce bottles or smaller and in a quart sized ziploc bag but I was wondering, am I limited to just that one bag or can I have more than one bag? This is what I read from the american airlines website but i’m still unsure:
“The containers must be packed in one transparent re-sealable plastic bag that does not exceed 8in x 8in (20cm x 20cm) or equivalent to one liter capacity per passenger.” By the way, if I did my conversions correcgtly, a quart is the same as a liter.
I need to pack for my trip and we aren’t gonna check in luggage. It’s all gonna be carry on. I just took out a quart sized bag and it seems so small. I’m just wondering how strict they are about things.

Yes, they are very strict about this – very strict! All the liquids must fit into the same bag. Only one bag is permitted. Deodorant, solid or gel, is counted as a liquid.
Some places sell common travel liquids in 3 oz sizes, so shop around a little. Also remember, that many things you might want to bring with you can also be purchased when you arrive at your final destination, so keep that in mind. Also, you may not put the 3oz of liquid in a container that has a larger capacity. This is strictly not allowed. Just follow the rules outlined by the TSA and you should have no trouble. Don’t even try to outwit the security people. It will only get you in a lot of big time trouble.
Very Strict..They will make you throw all of your stuff out if you exceed the rule. You are allowed 1 quart size bag and all liquids and gels should go in that bag, makeup base,perfume,shampoo,toothpaste etc…none of your products can be over 3 ounces each..so watch the size of products you get or you will have to ditch it in the garbage at security.

Chapstick (in stick form) and stick deodorant are supposed to be solids, and do not need to go in that bag. I always pack those things out of the bag and have never had a problem.

Most “solid” deodorants are gels.
The chapstick really isn’t that complicated to deal with. Put it in the bag. After you go through security, put it in your purse. There, problem solved.
