According to TSA:
Allowed on airplane.
Liquids or gels exactly 3oz or less.
Plastic knife/spoons/forks are allowed. NOT METAL.
Beverages purchased after security screening
You can bring razors and tweezers. You can obviously not bring any sort of weapon, even a small pocket knife or even a butter knife. You can bring liquids or gels that are in bottles 3 ounces or less and all these containers must be placed in a 1 quart sized plastic, sealable bag.
You cannot bring liquids, even a bottle of water, than is in a container larger than 3 ounces.
Your best bet is to go to the Airline website you will be travelling. They should have a listing of ALL you can and can’t have as carry-on.
Make sure you have the proper documents(Passport/Visa if needed).
Also check for luggage weight and how many pieces you can check-in.
Metal nail files, tweezers, lighters, can openers, liquid bottles over 3 ounces, knives and things like that, are not OK.
MP3 players, books, medicines(prescripted meds must have label), CD players, cameras, DVD players, PC’s are allowed on the plane as carry-on and used AFTER the flight is underway and the Flight Attendant or Captain says so.
If you wear contact lenses, pour the liquid into the contact lense compartment holders so when you decide to switch from contacts to glasses the transition is easier.
1 quart sized Ziplock bag with 3 ounce liquid items inside. ‘Chapstick’ is considered liquid items. Take an extra ziplock with you. I have experienced on an airline that if you dont have one, they will make you ‘BUY’ one from their gift shop for 45 cents!!!
After you have gone through security check you can purchase a bottled water from one of the shops.
Some flights might not allow the “bought bottled water” on the plane so be aware and dont be scared to ask. They will usually announce this before boarding.
.
No water bottles. No liquids at all. no aerosols, no tweezer no razors. You can get on your airlines web and they will have a list
