   Anything that’s not on the restricted list. There’s the whole less than 3 oz of liquid, gel and it includes shampoo and toothpaste. No water unless it’s purchased after you go through security. No guns, knives, illegal drugs….http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/a…

   Check this web site for a complete list of what NOT to take. All liquids, gels, etc. must be in 3 oz. bottles put in a 1 qt ziplock.

   check everything that you don’t need. Most drug stores like Savon or Rite aid have travel size toiletries. use those and if they confiscate them no big deal. However; here is the rule.
   of course you can carry standard stuff. Music, books. clothes, Computer etc. Here is how to carry the other stuff and the web site at the bottom will answer any more questions that you have.
   3-1-1 for carry-ons = 3 ounce bottle or less; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3 oz. container size is a security measure.
   Consolidate bottles into one bag and X-ray separately to speed screening.
   Be prepared. Each time TSA searches a carry-on it slows down the line. Practicing 3-1-1 will ensure a faster and easier checkpoint experience.
   3-1-1 is for short trips. If in doubt, put your liquids in checked luggage.

   You can take whatever you want, but I think that in the carry on bag should go the important things such as the documents, destination information, hotel information and some of the money.    Definitly take some snacks and things that will entertain you during flight…..magazines, books, etc. As far as gels/liquids…they must be 3.4oz or less and sealed in a quart size ziplock bag. You do have to delare this seperately to security (in the bin). I usually pack an extra change of clothes just in case there is an issue with not getting luggage on time. Make sure you have all the info for your trip that you need (hotel reservations, etc) with you for easy access.
