If it fits in the overhead, it will be fine. However, be very sure you wrap it up so that it doesn’t look like you’re going to be reckless with it. Bubble wrap is one idea, saran-wrapping it is another. Best though, would be to buy a duffel for it, and just check it; it’s not worth the hassle. You can also check packages that are simply wrapped in plastic or bubble-wrap, and taped together.
Let’s face it; if you have to check another bag just to carry your skateboard on, it’s worth the money to simply buy a duffel that can suit your skateboard, and stuff some clothes in there with it, too.
I believe it will need to go underneath in the baggage area.
Anymore these days, they scrutinize everything. Very little can go in the carry on.
Depends on the size but I guess it will be too large. Wrap it in this plastic bubbly thing and check it. Qantas doesn’t charge for checked luggage.
