I Left My Carry On Bag On A United Airplane. $1,000 Of Stuff In It, Will I Ever See It Again?

Let me know what to do since I relized I had left it on the plane 40 mins after getting off. I went back and asked the other crew who were boarding passengers by that time. They told me they didn’t see anything. Is there a clean up crew who goes in airplanes between crews? I placed my name on lost and found describing the bag and where it was lost but I need more info to help me get it back. I don’t know if I had my name on the bag but lost and found has my contact. It has been about 7 days since the inciddent. Also so everyone knows……I am a complete dumb *** for leaving it on the plane so don’t kick me too hard while I’m down. Thanks

I live near the famous Unclaimed Baggage Center in Scottsboro, Alabama. All of their merchandise comes from airports lost luggage! I’ll keep an eye out for it!http://www.unclaimedbaggage.com/

  2. You hafve my sympathies…I really am sorry, but doubt you will ever see it again. Most of us have somethng like this happen to us at one time or another in our lives We are busy and distracted, and it happens. Just so others may be helped from this situation, I would like to give you a website I found in the past with good ideas we can all use to help us NOT lose things when travelling. I also firmly believe in having some kind of cord between my carry-on bag and my purse and my WRIST…so I cannot stand up and move without them. A bit of a nuisance, but worth it. I hope for a miracle for you.

  3. I think the fact that it’s been 7 days is not in your favor, also the fact that the cleaning crews, which are usually sub-contractors may not be the most honest people around, I had some things stolen during a layover a while back. I recently flew from Japan on JAL to San Francisco and left my travel wallet full of credit cards and other cards in the seat pouch, there was a message on my phone machine waiting for me when I got to my house telling me I had left my wallet on the plane, so I was able to get it back later that day. I would try and pester United until you can get some kind of satisfaction. Good luck.

  4. This is going to depend on the honesty of the staff person who found/finds it.
Most airline employees are honest, and if your bag is found, it will be returned to you.
There are a small percentage of dishonest people in all walks of life, so you are going to have to hope for the best.
    Good luck.

  5. Airlines do not compensate passenger for lost carry-on bags as these items are not part of the liability agreement in the ticket. It seems that you may have lost the bag forever.

  6. If it is found by staff, you will probably get it back.
If by another passenger, good luck.

  7. dont hold breath on recovering it
