  1. You can take them. If you are allowed two pieces of checked luggage you could take the fishing rods as one of those pieces. If you are allowed only one piece of checked luggage you would be charged extra for them. If they are rods that can be “broken down” into smaller pieces, you might be able to take them for free as hand carry on. Here is the link to Delta’s website, which may help you.
