   you can start with your shine and your ipod in a jacket pocket or something then when you have to walk through your scanner you take the things out of your pocket so they dont have to open the bag to see that it is just your ipod and your phone and for the things in your pocket they dont use a metal detector they use a different thing that just identifies the things sometimes people even do it they only use metal detectors on you to start with the point of taking the stuff out of your pocket is because if you didn’t you would most likely have to get checked by a person every time because of keys, cell phone, etc.
   just go with the flow

   If it’s in your carry on, it goes through the x-ray scanner. Chances are they won’t open your bag and look through it, unless something looks “questionable” on the scanner. There are also trays for you to put things like keys, cell phones, etc on which then go through the scanner.
