Can I Take Contacts With Me On My Carry On Luggage In An Airplane?



I want to take a set of 2 new unopened contacts, and the one which I am using in its case along with the solution. I want to take it in my carry on luggage. Would this be seized from me because it is a liquid? Anyone done something similar in the past? Any kind help would be greatly appreciated

  1. You have to put all liquids in the quart sized baggie & put it through by itself in the security line. They don’t care what’s in that bag as long as the small liquids are all in 1 bag. The tsa web site contains much travel info. Also check your airline’s baggage requirements–they are changing as well –to 1 checked bag.

  2. Yes, you can. I have done this before and have had no problem. As for contact solution, make sure it’s within the FAA regulations (just buy the travel size). Check out faa.com for what you can and can’t bring on the plane with you.

  3. I flew last summer and took an extra pair of contacts with me, unopened. No problem. Your contact solution has to be a 2 oz. size or smaller tho. They have them in the “travel section” in most drugstores or Walmart.

  4. Nope. They won’t allow you to take 2. May be they allow just 1 and they will pack the solution in a visible pack.

  5. I suggest you get a small (very small) container, specifically clear, and just take that on.
