I might go to washington d.c. to visit family so I just want to know. Is it legal to carry a swiss pocketknife as carry-on to dc? it’s shorter than 3 inches.

Well a Swiss army knife is a weapon. So its illegal to carry it on board. In your checked luggage fine, but not carry-on. No matter the length of it. If my nail clippers aren’t allowed, then a Swiss army knife definitely isn’t.
They will NEVER let you do that. They took away my safety scissor & water bottle. And I’m always on planes because I’m always traveling. Do not bring it with you, it will just get taken away and never returned. They will throw it out.
