When I fly this is what usually goes in my carry on… my ipod,my camera, a book, maybe a puzzle book ( i’ve recently caught on how to do suduko LOL) a couple pencils or pens, a small notebook ( to jot down notes, who to send postcard to, things you want to do on your trip, etc), a small bottle of saline and my contact case, some snacks (crackers, pretzels, whatever you may want to munch on, no airline food usually and if there is, it’s nasty and expensive) a chance of clothes ( extra undies, a clean t-shirt that will pack easy, a light pair of jeans or shorts, just in case your suitcase gets lost for a day or so, you have something to change into) one of those sample size deodorant, a toothbrush, a small toothpaste, and some makeup basics, eyeliner, blush, lip gloss, hairbrush. I can usually get all this in a small backpack or duffel bag. Sounds like a lot, but not too bulky or heavy, but i’m prepared for most anything, and I’ve got plenty to do if the flight is delayed, or I’m stuck in the airport!
Indiana huh? Have fun… I’ve lived here most of my life… where you headed to?
Tylenol (or any other alternative) is a MUST! Also an iPod (never mind if your laptop has iTunes). Also bring water, unless the airlines gives you some. Dont bring anything else than Tylenol because then when you get off the plane, they will question you and ask you why you brougth it and yada yada yada. Also bring something to munch on.
What I usually bring on a short trip isn’t much, ID, money, ticket, camera, thats usually all for carry on.
For longer trips though, as in connecting and air time over 7h (appx), i bring a rolling suitcase with
1. some clothes incase the airline loses my big checked bag, im okay for a few days.
2. basic toiletries, toothpaste, etc, so i can freshen up before landing
3. camera
4. any souveniers for the return. i dont want them to get ruined if something happens to checked bag!
thats about all. you really dont need much.
A good book, start it before you leave so you get “into” it. Lots of ppl reccomend to bring clothing.. but i never do. Get some food, they charge alot. they will feed you your meals (Breakfast, Lunch, Supper) , at least most do. I-Pod, Camera, If you have any schooling stuff to take care of, this is definetly a time- waster. Playing cards, if your with other ppl. Magazines are a must for me! Anything that you enjoy doing really… and p.s. try to sleep! (I dont use medication because you feel out of it on the plane, which is NOT good) Hope i helped you, have fun. Oh and remember the new rules for what you cant bring on planes.. check your airline website.
Any medication you take, any jewelry or electronics you’ll be bringing, definitely a change of clothes, anything you absolutely cannot live without.
dont bring any heavy toiletries watever. youll get them taken away. they have to be super small. like those little bottle of stuff. haha.
anything that isnt a liquid
