Does your countries TV stations even broadcast on the same format as US TV stations?
If they do, read the carry on rules, there is no way a 42 inch tv can fit under the seats or in the overhead.
Sell it and buy a new one when you get home
It will be placed under “Special Cargo” (for large and irregular shape objects) but you will have to pay a fee. The airline may not compensate you fully if the TV is lost of damaged.
Alternatively, you may want to ship the tv back or by post (DHL).
Check with your specific airlines. Some allow you to pack it as cargo for a fee.. but most will NOT guarantee that it won’t get broken.
you might want to just sell it and buy a new one when you get home or send it thru a carrier like DHL and insure it.
