As long as, if you have liquid makeup, it is in a ziplock bag, you should be fine.

Watch out, you can't have liquids in your make up case! It would be best to check that! They took roll on peppermint oil from my purse because it wasn't in a quart size zip lock plastic bag! It was only 3 inches high!

I carried on 3 things with me when I flew last week. BUT you need to make sure that the makeup case has no liquid that is over 3 oz. Any liquids (including toothpaste and hair gel) need to be in a quart sized zip lock bag & as you go through security that bag needs to be out for them to see.
Call the airline directly for more info on how many you are allowed, I was on United and had a small purse, a "tote bag" sized purse and a duffel bag.

No, you are allowed 1 carry on bag, and 1 personal item (ie: laptop case or purse) per person. All your liquids have to be in original containers (smaller than 3 oz.) and then those have to all fit into a SINGLE quart sized ziplock bag. Check this link for the tsa requirements, and then you'll also have to check to make sure NW doesn't have even stricter requirements. The TSA requirements are the minimum standard. Some airlines have stricter standards, and will only allow 1 carry on (period) per person. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/p…

can you put the makeup case in your rolling duffle bag? that seems a little pointless to have that out. And like the other guy said...you can have a laptop/case...just take the laptop out of the case through security.

From my own expierence, make sure your laptop is out of any carrying case and in the open when you go through the X-Ray or you will get a lot of grief.
