Want To Take An Empty Thermos On Airline. It’ll Be A Gift, Can Thermos Be Placed In My Carry-on Suitcase? Thx?
I want to take 2-3 thermos bottles back to California on my return airline trip. They are souvenirs and measure about 8 to 10 inches tall. Of course they are brand new & will be empty & unwrapped. If I place the thermos containers in my carry-on suitcase, can I get through security OK–or are these items disallowed. Thanks.

Yes, but they will ask you to take them out and open them.
I sometimes travel with an empty flask. They catch it every time.. and they take it out, shake it and open it.
Then put it back and I’m on my way.
Why wouldn’t you be able to take empty bottles on a plane? Maybe I am being naive, but I am seriously baffled by what the big problem would be with that. I just flew from LA to Tokyo and I never encountered anyone that said thermos bottles were outlawed.
I would think you would be fine. Just expect security to open them and look inside. If you are checking a bag you can put them in there with no problem.
sure go ahead. i took an empty water bottle on the plane–they don’t care* as long as there are no liquids in that container.
No way, just mail them.
I don’t see why not.
