Can I Take My Miniture Gun Cap Gun Necklace On An Airline Flight In My Carry On?

I wear this necklace all the time, it has a miniture (about 3 inches) metal cap gun from the 70s on it (like nancy spungen wore) and I was wondering if i would be allowed to carry this on a flight with me? (I’m not checking luggage) I’m flying American Airlines and staying within the country)

  1. Of course not You are an idiot for asking
EDIT The airlines dont make the call. You will ckear security before the airline even sees it.
nevertheless, if I saw you boarding the plane with a working 3 inch capgun I would notify the captain who probably would ‘invite’ you to leave the aircraft.

  2. I would check with the airline you are flying with. The TSA prohibits carrying on “realistic replicas” of firearms. I don’t think a small one on a necklace would be realistic, but each airline is allowed to have its own policy on such things. Either contact the airline and ask them, or leave it at home and wear a different necklace during your trip.

  3. I recommend that you not wear it. It will set off the metal detector and it will be seen to be a miniature gun. Not a good thing to do.

  4. I have the same necklace. I forgot about it and was going through security in Atlanta. One of the guards pulled me aside and told me to put it in my pocket just to not freak anyone out. I got lucky. Leave it at home.
