  1. You can take most anything you want in your checked luggage (I’d be a bit careful of firearms if you haven’t spoken to the Mexican government in advance). Remember, you can’t lock your bags. Ship valuables ahead. Easiest to not carry on, but if you do, no sharp objects; no tools; no cutting objects. Put any liquids (hair/skin stuff, etc) in 2-oz bottles and they must ALL fit into one zip-lock.

  2. I would suggest that prior to traveling that you visit the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/ they have the complete list of what is and is not allowed in both your carry on luggage and checked luggage.
Hope this helps and have a great rip to Mexico!

a word of advice, don’t take a battery operated toothbrush as a carry on. i had mine with me and it had a short in it. it sent the whole building into a panic mode, because it kept starting every time they moved the bag. stange but true story.

  4. 2 Carry-Ons; One overhead and one under your seat .. Within limited size.

  5. In your carry on luggage – the rule is 1-3-1. One QUART size CLEAR Ziploc bag. 3 ounces of liquid, gel or areosol per container(trial sizes work great) and One Ziploc bag per person. The tolietries in the Ziploc bag must fit comfortably – no overstuffing and the zipper breaking. Have the bag handy so it can be screened outside of your carryon.
In your checkon luggage, you can pack full size containers if you wish, and anything else you would normally take on a trip – of course, don’t pack the blatently stupid things like, guns, knives, leaf blowers, explosives, brass knuckles….

  6. Can you bring a bag of coffee and coffee filters on the plane

  7. can I bring ground coffee in my carry-on?

  8. same question…does anyone know if there are restrictions around carrying a pound of ground coffee on flights. i recall bringing coffee home from south america (don’t remember if i checked or carried it) – but that was via cruise ship (which cleared customs) before i flew home.
