What is allowed to be brought on planes now?

airline carry on rules67 What is allowed to be brought on planes now?
im 19, mixed, & a proud virgin. asked:

okay so next week i will be getting on a plane for the first time since August 23, 2001.

since that was before 9/11 the rules were of course much more different. I will be turning 19 at the end of the month, if that makes a difference.

i live in the st. louis area and will be going tho the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. taking Northwest Airlines.

i will only be gone for 3 weeks, visiting my sister and aunt.

so i will only be bringing one big luggage and one carry on.

i want to bring my ipod and ipod adapter(the plug in kind). am i able to?

also, is it true that my mom cant come with me past security check? i have never flown alone, and was 12 the last time i was on one…i have never had to handle anything. i have never flown on northwest (i have flown on TWA and Southwest).

what can i bring, and not bring and is it possible that my mom come with me to a gate, or should i just get escorted by someone who works there?
i do have identification also.
